Safi Qureshey

Co-founder, Chairman and CEO

Safi co-founded AST Research in 1980 with $2,000 and led it through its 1984 public offering and onto the Fortune 500, reaching $2.4 billion in revenue in fiscal 1994. Samsung acquired AST in 1997. He is also co-founder of Skyline Capital Management, which invests in and builds technology companies. He brings the operating judgment of someone who has run a hardware supply chain at scale and sold through global distribution.

Sherjil Ahmed

Co-founder and CTO

Sherjil Ahmed is a technologist, inventor and repeat founder whose career spans semiconductors, networking and software. He co-founded three venture-backed companies, Avaz Networks, Quartics and X-Prime, each taking a hardware and software product from design through funding to customer delivery. At X-Prime he conceived a homomorphic encryption platform. He then founded Mindrover.ai, an AI-native case-management platform now serving more than 400 law firms, before focusing full time on a tree-structured algebra, formally verified in Lean, that became the basis for Morphics. Earlier he built cable and optical products sold to Scientific Atlanta and NEC. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Georgia Tech. At Morphics he leads engineering for the Morphics Memory Management Plane (MMP).

Jim Schraith

Co-founder and COO

Jim has thirty years of operating leadership in high technology. He was President and COO of AST Research as it reached the Fortune 500 in 1992, led Compaq’s North American operations (over $10 billion in annual revenue and more than 6,000 people) and served as CEO of ShareWave. He is a Venture Partner at Frontier Venture Capital, founder of BoardEvals, chair of the San Diego Blood Bank, vice chair of the Vitalant Foundation and a trustee of Vitalant, and has served on more than thirty boards.
